Get ready to move, play, and explore the world of physical fitness in this hands-on, interactive session! Led by Anne Provencher and Justin Hall from the TJC Kinesiology and Human Performance Department, participants will experience a variety of exercises designed to engage muscular, cardiovascular, and neurological responses. This active lab uses games, challenges, and creative activities to make fitness fun for all ages and abilities. In addition to exploring different ways the body moves, participants will learn about career opportunities in kinesiology, fitness, therapy, and human performance, discovering how passion for movement can turn into a professional path. Whether your goal is to build strength, improve coordination, or explore potential careers in health and fitness, this session offers a supportive, engaging environment to discover the joy of movement and the possibilities it can open.

Time: 9:30-10:45am
Age Range: 14+
Who Should Attend: Youth and young adults on the Autism Spectrum interested in physical activity, fitness careers, and hands-on learning about the human body.
- Be able to communicate their needs (verbally, with AAC, or other reliable communication methods)
- Be fully potty trained
- Be able to participate in an activity for up to 45 minutes
- Be able to follow basic directions
- Be paired with a designated buddy and must never be left alone during the session
- 14 years old and up
- Parents or caregivers must drop off and pick up participants directly at the assigned classroom for each breakout session
- Participants may only be released to their parent or designated caregiver at the end of the session
To help us provide appropriate support and ensure safety, you will be asked to provide the following information during registration: (jess please simply make question with a field for them to type in)
- Autism spectrum level (if known)
- Participant’s fields of interest
- Emergency contact information
- Whether the participant is an elopement risk (yes or no)
